At this clinic I was out with Kenny and Jeremy, two riders of different backgrounds and goals. While Kenny is eager to improve his wake style skills and his railey's, Jeremy likes to get better in old school tricks, boosting big airs and board off's. I came up with a few fundamentals to lead both of them to their goals. We started with a basic warm up in which I explained individual excercises to prepare them physically and mentally. Particular excersices are actually from previous injuries I had in the past which are common amongst kiter's and of course can be prevented with fairly little effort. Now what both of them needed for their trick is a good pop. We were talking about body position to maximise their pop and clean out little mistakes. Most importantly everything starts in your head and so I encouraged them to attempt their tricks with a positive mindset and respectively with power, speed and dedication. After that they were keen to hit the water and I went on coaching them between brakes.

The whole thing was a big success, the boys picked up a few things along the way while I enjoyed helping out and seeing them pushing each other. We will keep on running clinics in Perth as the location is perfect for this. If you are around and keen to learn something new with a bunch of motivated guys you should contact me and we'll schedule a clinic. It's free for everybody so step in and enjoy!
